What was she expecting? She called for a petition for a vote of non confidence. Any true leaders would simply get rid of any rotten apples.

Edit:

The party leadership vote of confidence is due in less than 6 months. This petition she called for was just an invalid way to trigger a vote of confidence. It's not even recognized by the party. Truly, she did it to herself by way of insubordination.
