This is not exclusive to men alone but I just got terminated from my job in a multibillion-dollar company for taking parental leave to take care of my 4-month-old daughter during "critical juncture in ongoing contracts". Having the senior leadership assassinate my character in a meeting that I thought would be about the finer details of my leave was an eye opener. It was clear they couldn't wrap their heads around why I was wanting the time off. I could see in their minds going "but but but what about your woman, that's her job". The loopholes in the laws are so wide it gives these companies free reign to terminate, now with no job how can you legally challenge it?!
