I just got out of a relationship that started out as pretty abusive on both sides. We drank too much and sometimes that would lead to physical altercations. Sometimes I would hit her. Sometimes she would hit me. We decided we cared enough about each other to try and better ourselves and we stopped drinking so much. It's been over a year since I hit her and about 6 months since she hit me. We broke up due to her drifting away and spending almost all of her time away from our home. She's started telling people that we both worked with (I took her into my industry because we did most everything together) that she was only with me for so long because she was scared of me and that I was abusive. She of course didn't mention that she was also physically abusive. The coworkers she talked to didn't believe she was violent toward me. Now I'm in danger of not getting booked for work. So is it ok for women to hit men but not the other way around?
