This is what actual systemic oppression looks like but it won't be national news or get nearly the time that "fake" oppression gets in the word.

They'd rather forget those cases exist than do anything. It could be because of financial reasons or they don't want the bad press or some other reason, like those positions that depend on being (re)elected

There's little in the way of correcting wrongful convictions. Instead of them seeking out those cases, an external organisation has to apply to the courts for the case to be reopened and for new evidence to be examined in the hope of overturning the conviction

When someone has been found guilty it's difficult to overturn that. The system doesn't make it easy and it isn't streamlined, as it could take a few years to just be released after a conviction is overturned

As it stands, it's convict then forget and move on to the next case
