I happened upon a buddy of mine in a club in time to get him out of the situation safely once. A few months later he struck it off with a stunningly attractive woman he ended up marrying. He was thankful, and dropped it, though he was more aware and cautious after that. I've had different close calls, but never quite that. Somehow moving forward managing the risks better may not be perfect, but it works. Don't let this wreck you brother.

It really comes down to how it affects you. It's probable you'll have trust issues arising from this

I think the general advice is: * Don't let anyone buy you a drink unless you get to see it being made and it's handed directly to you * Don't leave your drink unattended or with someone you don't know or trust * If there's ice and it's sinking, there's more bubbles than usual or, it's a different colour than usual and there's fogginess

The problem with the above is, you may focus too much and that may have a adverse affect on you. So it's probably better if you go to a club with someone you know and trust at least for short run, that's someone you can confide in with what may have happened or failing that, if you feel it's affected you the only other thing is to speak to a Counsellor

Therapy doesn't make you any less of a man. It doesn't work for me, but I know a lot of people who feel embarrassed to go but it's nothing to be ashamed of.

I'd recommend seeing professional help because this can cause a lot of real trauma that can damage a lot of aspects in ur life

I understand your anger, I would be in a white-hot rage. Being poisoned is a fear of mine and I think people who fuck with other people's drinks are scumbags.

The other commenter here gave good advice about not accepting drinks from people etc. I never leave my drinks unattended, even for a few seconds, I'm overly cautious, I either carry them with me or get new ones. You are not to blame for any of this, your guard was down in a relaxed setting and those two guys took advantage of that.

You listened to your gut instincts, which is good and only took a few sips. It's hard to trust again, I've had different issues with people and I have a hard time trusting people now. I don't know how we get back to where we were. Time and and patience I guess. Talking to a counselor or therapist will definitely help.

This is a crime. Please consider reporting it.

Just because there are no drugs in your system, does not mean that video cameras in the bar did not film the perpetrator attempting to drug you.

This does not mean that you can't help the police id the perpetrator.

Even if your case is non-prosecutable, this is the type of crime which draws a serial perp. Once the perp is identified, other victims may be identified, and the pattern may emerge. It may be enough to bust the perp.

Even if that's not enough, the police can ask the local bars to be on the lookout for the perp and tip them off when another drugging happens.

You may prevent a sexual assault or robbery or both.

Please consider speaking up and reporting this crime!

You will get past this and will be better off from this experience as now you know this can and does happen and you didn't get ie: robbed.

Never take a drink or smoke a joint with people you don't know and trust. There are drugs out there they can add to your drink or add to a joint they are acting like they are smoking but not actually smoking that will make you give up your phone/wallet/keys/ATM PIN in a daze and have little if any memory of the next day.

If you are at a crowded bar always have a chain of custody of your drink. If you go to piss your drink comes with you on that journey. Don't trust your friends to always be on top of paying attention to your drink in a crowded bar if you have to piss they can get distracted and people engaging in this sort of drugging are pretty good at distracting.

Some of the people caught doing this are even very attractive women. Now you know how not to be a victim.
