I think some of the important takeaways:

Female offenders are less likely to be arrested or convicted.
People are less likely to report women.
As many as 40% of sex offenders may be women studies show.

I once saw a show in which an investigator believed many unsolved serious crimes including serial killings were committed by women. His point was if the profilers tell you to look for a male perpetrator, you are unlikely to discover female perpetrators. There is still an ongoing belief that men initiate most domestic violence despite hundreds of studies showing women initiate more domestic violence than men.

It’s all part of the women are wonderful effect. If you look into issues with the pre formed bias women are wonderful and it’s men who do everything bad, then that’s what you will see.

I don’t mean to sound cheesy, but I like that I have a voice in this sub. I didn’t even say anything wrong in certain social justice subs and I got banned. Simply for expressing myself differently. I’m tired of walking on eggshells. It’s really made me question my self esteem, but I’m working on getting that back.

If there is one positive outcome of the high-profile trial of Maxwell, it is that it has shown that perpetrators of sexual abuse can be women.

In our experience, many sexual violence prevention programs, materials and public service announcements universally depict perpetrators as men only. This not only teaches children to fear men but also may make potential victims more likely to trust a woman, even when her behavior is coercive, manipulative or abusive.

This is well off the usual narrative at The Con.
