Crosspost "Yes, All Men." from /r/fourthwavewomen:

It's "not all men" until you trust one. It's "not all men" until you're taken advantage of in your own apartment. You should've known, they'll say. You should've prepared for this. What did you expect when you invited him in? Why weren't you careful? Of course the man only wanted one thing from you, you should've known that silly girl.

It's "not all men" until you show some skin. Surely, you knew men would stare, leer, of course you knew they would say something, catcall you, of course you knew they'd have to touch. What did you expect when you wore that? Men can't help themselves, remember? They're visual creatures, they can't not look, say, touch!

It's "not all men" until you want a relationship free from pornography. All men watch porn of course, you can't expect a man to be with or be satisfied with just one woman. He can't help it, he has to follow porn stars, he has a right to Onlyfans and jacking off to Instagram models. He's a man, what did you expect? You're insecure and conservative for pointing out pornography issues, you silly girl, this is what men do.

It's "not all men" until that doesn't benefit them anymore.

I'm so sick of 'feminists' pandering to men who can't look past a generalized use of the word man. Because guess what? It is most likely men. It's more than likely going to be a man who rapes me, who sexually assaults me, who sexually harasses me, who stalks me. It is most likely a man I trust who will share intimate images of me online, who talks about my 'promiscuity' with the boys, it is a man I trust who will more than likely abuse me. But it's my fault for being safe? My fault for being cautious? For being careful?

My safety is light years beyond making sure men are comfortable in my language and actions. I do not care if it offends men. The men who are offended are the ones who do not understand. Why would I make myself smaller, correct myself, point out the obvious because some men are taking what I'm saying in bad faith? If you're a true ally, you understand what I'm saying.

When I’m alone and I see a man on a dark road at night, how am I supposed to know if he’s one of them? One of the “bad men”. Should I not take safety precautions because then I’m being “sexist”? I shouldn’t assume all men? If I called a friend, or ran to the other side of the sidewalk, am I sexist for putting my safety above this liberal idea that I need to be woke and assume not all men are bad?

Because on that dark street when I’m all alone, all men are a threat. When I’m meeting a man from a dating app, am I sexist for meeting in a public place? No, because all men are a threat. All men are a potential threat.

Yes. All men.
