You can criticize someone else's standards all you like, but what exactly would be the point? My standards are to make sure I don't waste time with partners who aren't actually worth it (and I never have).

We certainly are allowed to change standards. But bitching that you don't match other people's dating standards is just entitled and dumb. Saying that people should lower their standards because you don't match them doesn't make any sense. The same way saying someone has to lower their standards for food because they don't like a food I made is dumb.

Because we just came off a divorce boom of a lot of failed marriages a generation or so ago. Most of the younger adults today have at least some exposure to what a bad or failed marriage looks like. Having standards is a really crude attempt to avoid that.
