She can reasonably ask you to do something, and saying no is not an option unless you want to spend the night on the couch.

Fuck that. If she's pissed at me SHE can sleep on the couch.

Overall, you are correct that both alpha (attraction building) and beta (security building) behaviors are important in a relationship. But that doesn't mean just to add alpha.... some guys need to reduce their beta behaviors in order to land that attraction in the first place.

And, of course, if you do want a relationship, that's fine. Just be very selective of whom you give your commitment. Far from all women are worth it.

The article OP linked to was for established marriages. I doubt that will help many people on this sub.

This poor excuse of a graph that I drew in five minutes shows the way it should be done: Large doses of alpha in the beginning, coupled with precipitous falls into a 50-50 blend of alpha and beta once in an established marriage.

I'm afraid too many subscribers will read this guy's post and think, "Oh, shit. So I should be super nice to that woman at the bar, just a mix of alpha and beta!"

NO. Your beta traits come out, slowly, like a dripping faucet, and only after her good behavior has been rewarded by extracting increasing amounts of commitment from you.

Yes you are right. My post is directed to established relationships. I see poor advice for established or establishing relationships in this sub, and even direct rejections to forming one and I disagree entirely.

You've got it all wrong.

You keep the alpha high, always. It's as you get more and more exclusive that you bring in some more beta behaviors.

You are always the rock. You are always the man. You don't reduce being a man as the relationship goes on, you don't reduce letting her know you have options other than her, you don't reduce leading as the relationship goes on: that's how you find yourself divorced.

What you do is to slowly add security building behaviors as the relationship goes on. This allows her to feel secure that her strong, confident, desirable MAN isn't going to jump ship to another women and that he will consider her when he makes the decisions. But she knows he does have options, and that's what keeps her striving to be better in order to keep him.

Tomato, tomatoe.

Beta traits, vulnerability game, security building behaviors, being nice, showing your sensitive side, opening up, communicating, being romantic -- these are all the same things. Do I let a woman emote endlessly on the phone with me when I haven't banged her? No. Do I cook a woman dinner by candlelight for a first date when we haven't even held hands yet? No.

But when I'm in a relationship, I'll do those things because it builds security.

We're on the same page, we just call it different things.

words.

A lot of red pill posters come from bad relationships, because they allowed themselves to become a coward and not confident. Overzealous readers of RP material claim that the reason their relationship failed was because of beta traits altogether. Instead, relationships fail because you failed to introduce alpha traits to balance out your beta traits. Thus, you become an unconfident coward.

I was guilty of this. Emphasis on myself allowing this to occur.
