When I go to the store, I assume that what I get matters. If I get the wrong thing, either my wife or I will have to go back, or it will make her life harder when she tries to use whatever it is I got. So yeah, if I have any doubt, I don't hesitate to call or text for confirmation. What's the alternative - just grab any random thing that looks close?

There have been times she's offered to go by Lowe's to pick up something I need. And I get multiple calls/texts. How ungrateful would I be if that irritated me?

What’s funny is i know guys like this and there are only two reasons for this behavior that I’ve observed; 1. The wife is so specific and borderline verbally or mentally abusive to their spouse when something isn’t just right. Like if Philadelphia cream cheese is out and the husband without checking swaps it for generic it starts a huge blow up leaving the spouse feeling defeated and incompetent or 2. They just want to make sure they get the right shit. That many calls it’s probably #1 though.

To be fair, men who do this are just asking for it. And that kind of behavior is very needy and women are disgusted by needy men. Women like stuff like this for a day and then they find it boring. Why? Because it is predictable as hell. It’s funny that women complain when their man cheat, but notice how long women will stay with a cheater. A man who cheats is basically flexing his options. Not encouraging men to cheat, but you got to make your women realize that you will leave whenever her shit is too much. The problem is that most guys are way too desperate for a girlfriend or wife and forget about self respect.

I’m woman and when I get stuff for my mom I want to make sure I get the right groceries. So I totally understand the guy on his part. Sometimes I need specifics like if her list says “something sweet” I’ll have to text her and be like “do you want cookies, or ice cream, or even a cake?” So it’s normal to want to know if they want something specific. People aren’t mind readers.
