Crazy enough I have had a women scream at me for not giving up my seat on a subway train home. It was two years ago, I was on my way home from my office and was on the four pm train toward my town. The train was pact to the gills and I had already given up my seat twice. The first was for a elderly woman who had one of those roller baskets. My second seat was for a mother who had two kids with her in a stroller.

Not 30 seconds after I had surrendered my second spot, I heard the doors open to let people on. At this point I am three stops away from mine and very tired. I was just starting to nod off when I felt a tap on my arm. Lookin toward the tapper my vision is blocked by this very large woman who has a passed look on her face. She asks me if I could stand up so she could sit. When I replied no and told her about how tired I was she starts whining to people to get me to move. When other men and women don't help her she screeches bloody murder until the next stop where she gets off.

I dont understand why it should be just limited to people of a certain gender, I feel like any person who is limited by the difficulty of standing up on transportation should have a right to request a for a seat that is being occupied of a person that doesnt have an issue doing as such. This includes: disabilities, very overweight/tall, elderly, or people with injuries. Noone should manipulate others for seats or have a bias on who can or cant sit however.
