"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

"....as well as a supporting male victims document, in recognition of the specific challenges which men and boys face who experience violence against women and girls crimes, including domestic abuse."

Do they sexist much?...I'm not exactly sure what they trying to say but I think they are dividing crimes into male and female crimes?... and being ignorant about it....

[–]ACustomWarframe 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

This article is how they tell us they failed preschool without telling us they failed preschool

[–]Dukunt2 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haha good one😘

[–]shit-zen-giggles 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (56 children) | Copy Link

The reason is that on their books those set of crimes disproportantely affect women and girls.

They say so on the first page of the document.

See my comments in the other thread about this subject: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/tt95qm/supporting_male_victims_of_crimes_considered/

[–]Angryasfk 34 points35 points36 points 4 years ago (55 children) | Copy Link

So crimes like mugging, murder, assault which disproportionately affect men (far more than DV disproportionately affects “women and girls”) should be classified as “crimes against men”? Oh wait, I’m hearing crickets!

All this shows that feminism really does have the effect of erasing male victims. The absurdity of the language when they pretend they do include them is evidence of that.

[–]shit-zen-giggles 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you. I don't condone their practise. I'm just trying to empathize with it, not in the sympathic meaning, but in the "i can see the world through your eyes and understand your position" way.

Domestic violence legislation is feminists baby. They won't give that up (at least not for the forseeable future).

[+]Easteuroblondie -15 points-14 points-13 points 4 years ago (53 children) | Copy Link

Disproportionately affects men….and who perpetuates these crimes?

[–]Angryasfk 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

I’m sick of this feminist excuse. It’s just another example of demonising men and saying we’re collectively responsible for the actions of any individual man (apparently anywhere in the world).

How about one of the most common feminist gripes at the moment: slut shaming! Who does that? Oh it’s overwhelmingly women! So perhaps you should stop complaining about it then since it’s women doing it to other women!

[+]Easteuroblondie -10 points-9 points-8 points 4 years ago* (20 children) | Copy Link

Username checks out

And c’mon man, men slut shame all the time. All. The. Time.

So men perpetuate the vast majority of domestic, psychical, and violent crime. Sometimes they are also the victim, and victims of all kinds deserve help.

Again, it sounds like the key to a lot of these concerns is to hold abusers accountable.

And I don’t think you’re going to like this, but the vast majority of abuser of both men and women…

[–]Angryasfk 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So victim blaming. It’s all mens fault if they get attacked because most of the criminals are men.

Check.

And you suggest you look again at who does the most “slut-shaming”.

[–]Easteuroblondie -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No, not victim blaming. Perpetrator blaming. Stop copying the language of another movement and using the sandbox argument of “I know you are, but what am I?”

[–]Angryasfk 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Another movement? You mean feminism?

[–]Angryasfk 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And what did you say earlier? That it’s “different” if men are murdered, mugged, and assaulted because the criminal is most likely a man?

If a man is a victim of DV (which the Home Office under feminist influence now calls crimes against “Women and Girls”) he wouldn’t be a victim of a man in the overwhelming majority of cases.

[–]thePatchProfessional 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You literally victim blamed. There's no way around that

[–]tenchineuro 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

So men perpetuate the vast majority of domestic, psychical, and violent crime.

Source?

[–]Easteuroblondie -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago* (11 children) | Copy Link

Jesus. Just look up crime stats by any of those dimensions by gender.

90% of all murder worldwide are perpetuated by men: https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/data-and-analysis/global-study-on-homicide.html

Between 80-90% of known pedophiles are men: https://www.raace.org/statistics-information (though, I suspect women get away with this type of crime more because in general, they aren’t really under any suspicion whereas men are)

1 in 4 women are victims of rape/attempted (25%) whereas 1 in 40 men are (2.5%). (That’s a a 10x difference - 1000%) higher.

96% of murder-suicide victims are women: https://ccfamilycrisis.org/domestic-violence-statistics/

You know what’s extra terrifying as a woman? More than 60% of femicide murders are by non partners, which includes serial murders and stalkers, in many cases, by strangers or acquaintances. Meaning sometimes, women get killed for literally being women and minding their own business. They didn’t slut shame. They didn’t cheat. They didn’t hurt anyone. And they were STILL killed just for being a woman. https://apolitical.co/solution-articles/en/men-root-violence-prevention-focus

And Until men as a cohort change their behavior and for as long as women (and other groups) aren’t economically and socially leashed to men, there will be an increasing amount of women that simply don’t want anything to do with men out of fear of abuse.

Yes, victims are victims and should all be treated as such. But by and large, men are the perpetrators of violence against both men and women.

I do actually feel for the fact that it sucks that the behavior of say, 15% of all males in turn reflects poorly on all men, even ones who would not hurt someone else. But the risk profile overall is too high for other cohorts to find out. That unfortunate symptom of reaction to men’s overall, collective behavior does not even begin to compare to the the damage that brought that reaction on.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think men should get sent to fight rich mans wars either. I would be CRUSHED if the men I loved had to do that. But once again, I don’t think the solution is “whatabout women.” It’s fuck this rich mans war, if this asshole wants to go fight, let him strap up his boots and do it. And best believe that if my home turf was being threatened, I’d be right there with them

That’s what I hate about this whole argument. It focuses on outcomes and not symptoms. That men are victimized by men doesn’t invalidate the violence perpetuated against women. It just underscores the the group responsible for all this suffering needs to be put in check

[–]Angryasfk 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Who are these “other cohorts” you keep speaking about? Non-binary? Intersex (from what I can see they mostly identify as male or female)?

Why on earth did you bring “slut shaming” into “femicide”?

[–]Easteuroblondie 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

Lmao go ahead and downvote the huge amount of data that contradicts you’re “but what about me” arguement, and you’re welcome for doing the research for you

You seem to believe that we cannot even begin to address or discuss the struggles of others until every injustice against you and the people you share characteristics with is resolved first.

100 people get murdered, one was a man. We cannot begin investigating the other 99 until the one solved, because that would be unfair

—you prolly

What do you have to say that men are the perpetrators of the vast majority of violence against both men, women, and children? How do we address this pervasive, global issue?

I’m all ears

[–]Dukunt2 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I just looked at your rape statistics and they don't say what you claim. And when you look at the definition of rape: "forced penetration" and many definitions require a penis to penetrate, a woman by definition cannot commit rape, unless She has a penis..

[–]Easteuroblondie 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah they do, you just don’t absorb information you don’t like. Not gonna entertain this anymore, gl there

Also, if you’d like, you can present your own statistics instead of marking baseless claims, being refuted, then acting as though you have any credibility to be deciding the validity of actual data, ie, substance

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Cool, now do race instead of gender. Oh wait... Only feminists can get away with this bigoted diatribe.

[–]Angryasfk 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

And who commits DV in lesbian relationships?

[–]tenchineuro 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

My guess, somehow it's the patriarchy. /s :-)

[–]Easteuroblondie 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

“But what about”

[–]Angryasfk 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Come off it. Feminists love the “men bad, women good, men bad, women good, men bad, women good” mantra. Which is what that boils down to. As I said elsewhere, they’ve no hesitation in complaining about “slut-shaming” even though it’s overwhelmingly women who do it. They still somehow make it out to be mens’ fault!

[–]Easteuroblondie 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not really. They do it, yeah, but I wouldn’t say it’s the vast majority or even a majority at all.

[–]Angryasfk 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You mean you don’t want to believe that!

[–]Dukunt2 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe it's time then to start explaining to all women that killing babies is a bad thing.

/s

[–]Haquestions4 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Most black people are killed by black people. According to your logic these victims aren't victims because they are also black.

You should can that train of thought and try to become a better human.

[–]Easteuroblondie 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Most white people are killed by white people

What’s your point?

In fact, the fact that men are the primary perpetrators of violence transcends race, class and culture

Textbook whataboutism, and a dumb af one at that

[–]Haquestions4 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I can only assume that you are willfully obtuse.

Your point was that "if a crime is perpetrated mostly by sex x and the victim is of sex x, then they aren't reeeeally a victim"

I showed you how that sounds using race instead of sex. Pretty fucked up, right?

You should probably reread the definition of whataboutism.

[–]Easteuroblondie 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (11 children) | Copy Link

And I countered. That men are the perpetrators is true across race too.

So what’s your point?

Btw, I did not say that men aren’t victimimized. I redirected the argument to the root cause of the issue the perpetrators which are overwhelmingly men.

Sitting here and blaming other groups men victimized doesn’t help anything. Want men to be less victimized? Cool, figure out how you can help men to stop victimizing those around them, whether they be men, women, or children. Everyone wins.

Hint: blaming everyone else and whataboutisms won’t help

[–]Haquestions4 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

So you'd say that black people killed by black people aren't victims?

[–]Easteuroblondie -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

what·a·bout·ism the technique or practice of responding to an accusation or difficult question by making a counteraccusation or raising a different issue.

Hint: black on black crime, much like white on white, and pretty much any combo of X on X is still…you guess it…perpetuated by men across the board

[–]tenchineuro 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

….and who perpetuates these crimes?

Dunno, why does that matter?

[–]Easteuroblondie 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Lol ladies and gentlemen, the problem right here ^

So solve problems, you have to look at causes, not symptoms

[–]Angryasfk 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ok. Most black men killed in the US are killed by other black men. Do you think BLM should stop their campaigns against the police and go protesting black men instead?

[–]Easteuroblondie 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not engaging in this whataboutism. We were talking about men as perpetrators of violence.

[–]Angryasfk 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. YOU’RE talking about that. The thread/post was about victims of crime, not the perpetrators. The overwhelming majority of male victims of DV are victimised by female perpetrators anyway.

[–]Logical_Childhood733 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

EXACTLY! Idk why this was in my recommended but omg 🙄

[–]DaLordOfDarkness 40 points41 points42 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh yes, the gender bias and stereotypes, portraying males as always the abusers and help the male victims far less.

[–]delocalelectron 31 points32 points33 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists have exploited the blindness of female violence against partner to their own ends for the best part of half a century, and have been influencing powerful law-makers, who are often female these days - like UK Home Secretary Priti Vacant here. For the past two decades, this manipulation has been more than blatant. The Women's Refuge movement supplied the Domestic Violence figures to the Police and the Home Office. In 2011, it was suggested by Vera Baird (former Solicitor General for England and Wales, and a Crime Commissioner for Northumbria Police) that domestic violence towards women was a generic trait of men - a feminist narrative. To support this narrative, any evidence of widespread domestic abuse of men must be covered up. The present footnotes, bizarre though they are, are the first stages of ANY sort of acknowledgement that men are also victims of domestic abuse.

They know what they're doing. But, women can't fool other women, they can see right through the manipulation. Sometimes, a good un will take a public stance, as in Linda Kelly here: 'How Women Batter Men and the Role of the Feminist State' Florida State University Law Review, Vol 30, issue 4. 'Despite the wealth and diversity of the sociological research, and consistency of the findings, female violence is not recognised within the extensive legal literature on domestic violence. Instead, the literature consistently suggests that only men commit domestic violence. Either explicitly, or more often implicitly, through failure to address the subject in any objective manner, female violence is denied, defended and minimised.'

[–]ignatztempotypo 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, they're not talking about male victims of domestic violence as in the actual victims of their partners abusing them. They're talking about how men feel when "their women" have been abused, ostensibly by another man. What a complete shit show.

[–]rahsoft 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

they were also putting stupid and backwards domestic abuse adverts on the radio for VAWAG but never for male victims..

if there was ever a reason to never vote for the current political party in power ever again, this would be it.

[–]Kindly-Town 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And then feminists say they aren't real feminists.

[–]CaptBerlin 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck this world

[–]TrilIias 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is why racism against the British is allowed.

[–]DaLordOfDarkness 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The British government love to let immigrants be violent and racist towards their own people, even murdering them.
