Men, people, everyone, are less likely to express negative feelings when they expect a hostile or ambivalent response to those negative feelings.

When we hear someone saying "women are more comfortable expressing their feelings", what we are really hearing is "we offer more comfort to women who are expressing their feelings".

Those pointing out the reluctance of men to talk about their feelings and seek help, are really acknowledging their own lack of empathy for men.
