Guys who moved to a brand new city after the age of 25, how was it like for you in regards to social life and meeting people?

the answer is always yes. it's not hard to meet new people and have fun no matter how old you are as long as you are not a lame loser.

I heard similar sentiment. I'm guessing once you've reached that point of maturity in terms of brain development, if you don't already have the social skills from childhood/"free" years you're basically fucked (not in the good way).

I've moved cities permanently (ie not on a holiday) twice in my life. The first time was at age 20 for uni, and the second time age 25 for a job. In my experience the second time was infinitely easier than the first.

At 25 I was way more confident and found meeting new people a lot easier than when I was younger, despite the fact that I was at uni and surrounded by people.

Mate, at the end of the day it all comes down to you. No one else's experiences will help you. Some suggestion if you were to take this action:

Use meetup.com to find hobbies that interest you and go meet people that way, use tinder to meet girls, post on your cities local reddit page.

Bottom line = Fun, interesting, friendly people make friends regardless of age. Nervous, insecure, introverted people will find it a lot harder, regardless of age.

I am in my 40s, and have moved several times as an adult. I have been in my current town for over 10 years, and have very few deep friendships locally. I've "met" lots of people, and have actively chosen to keep our relationships on a superficial level. My standard for "adds value to my life" is very high as I get older.

Not only does the world change, but YOU change also. People get busy with life, kids, career, and more. YOU get busy with the same. Friendships are just "different" as you get older.

Not quite what you wanted to hear, but it's true.
