Okay, hear me out. Time and time again we are being told men can get pregnant, you need to include gender non-conforming people, should speak about "people who give birth", etc.
But when it comes to the abortion ban it's suddenly "you hate women". Didn't you just say a moment ago both men and women can get pregnant?
You can't have it both ways. And it's always when it comes to issues like that. All for inclusivity, unless it would be empathy for men, then suddenly "woman" isn't about gender anymore, it's about sex.
Words seem to mean nothing as they are interpreted always to paint men as bad. At least that's what it seems like. "Men don't deserve empathy".
Also completely disregarding that the "anti-abortion" crowd is about 50/50 men and women. No, apparently is not religious dogma, but men oppressing women again.
Who wants to bet that in 10 years tops people will talk about this event like it was the evil men again who tried to oppress the poor women.
The abortion ban is disgusting and it's a huge step back, but can we maybe tackle the problem as what it is - a right-wing and mostly religiously motivated topic - instead of making it a gender issue again?
Thanks for reading my rant.
