Equal rights should mean equal responsibility

[–]DirtyPartyMan 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your point is flawless in its brilliant simplicity

[+][deleted] -17 points-16 points-15 points 4 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

The problem with this plan is that women are not suited for combat. And war will never go away, look at ukraine, look at the recent history of the world. Let’s go back to sex roles. What a novel idea! (It’s as old as humanity).

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Anyone that can fire a gun and move is suitable for combat. Also fuck traditional gender roles, I agree with feminists on that one

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Anyone that can fire a gun and move is suitable for combat.

It’s grueling. Many us infantry drown in ww2 during amphibious landings. Swimming loaded with gear is no joke. Most Americans are simply too fat and out of shape. They’d need an extra year of training just to get them in reasonable health.

[–]anon38723918569 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Isn't half the point of the draft that people that aren't fit for military service get excluded? So, not excluding women by default but excluding the ones that wouldn't be fit for it seems more fair.

[–]Any-Gur-3482 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yes but if u look at just entering the army (im talking USA) women have lower standards bc women have more fat cells than men, smaller lungs, smaller hands, wider hips (after puberty), leas testosterone… so in short women are slower and weaker then men which is why they have different standards to get into the army (and they r separate in sports) that is all good until a women gets into a situation where she needs to lift something off something or move something thats heavy. now she is screwed because she can’t do it at no fault of her own

So on AVERAGE women are already less fit for the army

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes I agree that swimming loaded with gear is gruelling, however even the us marines said that an amphibious invasion is highly unlikely to succeed anymore and also I stand by my point if you can fire a gun and move quickly you can be in combat with proper training

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I tried searching but found some conflicting things. One said only the Navy and US coast guard require swimming anymore but then I found something that seems to say the army still has a combat swimming test.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Army may well have that test not a clue I haven’t been in any military so I wouldn’t have a clue

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

False. Men carry heavy backpacks in combat zones, and women are a drain on the men. Ask any man who served in combat.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I simply disagree. Draft for all or draft for none, also women can be effective soldiers, just maybe not special ops or operations that require carrying massive amounts of equipment. Training will help massively offset the disadvantage

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My grandfather’s typical gear loadout in ww2 was 100 lbs for infantry. When they made amphibious landings too many drown so it was reduced to 50 lbs which was only enough to last a couple days. I’m sure it’s probably gotten better in some ways with lighter materials. I’ll have to ask my coworker when we’re both in the office next how much his gear weighed since he was in the army infantry in Iraq.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Most Americans are too fat for combat

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I’ve traveled a lot. Americans are no fatter than other citizens of other countries.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think what we call fat or skinny has just changed. I was just into the medically obese category two years ago but didn’t look too terrible since so many adults were way bigger than me. After losing 50 lbs I got close to the line between healthy and overweight but still in the overweight category and people started telling me how skinny I was. Medically I’m still overweight or “fat” to use the colloquially term. Going to try to burn off the last of my gut this summer.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think that the nomograms for weight are too low. A person is called “overweight” by medical professionals even if they are average. Average should be normal. There is no evidence that packing a few extra pounds over the so-called “limit” is unhealthy or contributes to disease. Most men have a “gut” by the time they’re 50.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah the categories are a bit too low IMO too The model is too simplistic too because a bodybuilder gets classified as obese even if their body fat % is ridiculously low. I lost enough to get out of the area where health risks significantly increase which was my main goal. Mostly I’m trying to keep going a bit because why not look good too since most of the work to get there is done now and I need to maintain anyway to not end up obese again.

I don’t think averaging things together is the way to go though. I’m at the average weight for men my height in 1950 but well below average for men my height now.

[–]Monster3gamez 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That Americans r fat is just a myth and a steriotype

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The ones that would probably be drafted first aren’t too bad (18-25). It’s mostly over about 35 where it starts to get out of control. When I people watch, I hardly see any my age (44) that aren’t overweight or obese. I got myself from obese to fit a year ago but have crept back into the medically overweight category again so I have some work to do. Most people wouldn't guess I’m in the medically overweight category because our perception has gotten so warped that I now look skinny. When 95% of our food in a grocery store has sugar added to it, it’s no surprise why we’re fat.

[–]Axleonder 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If suitability for combat was the issue, why do armies then force small boys into combat carrying and handling assault rifles over physically capable adult women?

Shows you know nothing of what you're talking about.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Huh?! Who wants young boys in military?! I never promoted any such thing, and any “culture” which does is not deserving of the appellation.
Women can certainly serve in support roles.

[–]Axleonder 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're a tradcon, so you perfectly support the sacrifice of young boys in your behavior. Don't lie to us.

[–]dojoboy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Are all males suitable for combat? All males have to register for the draft.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My father fought in WW2 at the ripe age of 18. He marched across France in the dead of winter and was in the Battle of the Bulge. I am not the man that he apparently was, and make no claim to be a “combat soldier” kind of guy. But the Army put those young men into positions that best suited them, and this was done ad hoc in very trying circumstances. I trust that most men would have some role to play in a dire situation and that the military leaders can use different abilities for different functions, even if it means being a medic or a cook.
I am quite certain that I would prefer to go, instead of my wife or daughters. If that simple idea is beyond your grasp, I can’t help you.

[–]dojoboy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Firstly, I didn’t insult you. Your position is easily understood, which is not a reference to the intellect used to reach it.

Secondly, likewise, the US military can train women for a suitable role as well. Seeing how the US military is already doing such for women who volunteer. There are males out there who would get their asses beat by female MMA fighters.

Thirdly, males are punished if they do not register for the draft through fines, losing eligibility for federal college aid, etc. Females are never subjected to that possibility. This point is clearly unconstitutional.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m sorry if you feel insulted, it wasn’t meant to be insulting.

[–]TheBeastlyFlame 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Try saying that to a military women, you'd say otherwise once you see her

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I live near a military base. I respectfully disagree because the men tell me that the women are a drain on the unit. I’m not making this up.

[–]TheBeastlyFlame 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't mean she isn't combat ready, she maybe a drain but she is atleast most likely, combat ready

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Um, okay, whatever….keep repeating it to yourself: “girl power, girl power, girl power….”

[–]TheBeastlyFlame 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wasn't saying girl power, I was saying don't think women can't fight because they can and it will mess you up somehow

[–]McFeely_Smackup 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So why force women to register for conscripted military combat, over their consistently expressed opposition?

Consider for a moment, that an adult actually wrote those words.

Women don't want to be drafted, so why would we?

The inescapable implication is that he believes men WANT to be drafted.

This kind of idiocy transcends politics, this is clinical.

[–]LELO_TV 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Funny thing is, people get paid to write this crap.

[–]happyness423 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Maybe equality could be NO draft.

[–]No-Satisfaction-2320 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's the US, so very unlikely. The next best thing is draft for everyone.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No single human should be drafted. I fucking hate authoritarians playing with civilians lives.

[–]Aimless-Nomad 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nothing new. Been happening since the White Feather campaign.

An old comment i wrote:

Women are happy to send men to their deaths in war while they themselves flee

It started with this despicable woman who was the forefront of the movement that shamed men to go die in war

Male shaming and suicide was so bad during WW1 that the United Kingdom had to create the Silver War Badge so feminists would leave men alone and that idea was revived for WW2 with the King's Badge.

It was common for men who had been given the White Feather by feminists in the First World War to either kill themselves through shame, or else to immediately sign up and face probable death, even if they were suffering from genuine disability, had already fought and been traumatized, or even if they were underage children.

A quote from the lady herself:

There are people who say ‘What right have women to talk to men about fighting for their country?’ since women are not according to the custom of civilization, called upon to fight. That used to be said to us in times of peace. Certainly, women have the right to say to men ‘Are you going to fight to defend your country and redeem your promise to women?’. The least that men can do, is that every man of fighting age should prepare himself, to redeem his word to women and to make ready to do his best to save the mothers, the wives, and the daughters of Great Britain from outrage too horrible even to think off. What bitterness there was in the hearts of many women when they saw work and business going on as usual, carried on by men who ought to be in the fighting line.

- Emmeline Pankhurst

more than one million men died in world war one.

And since then

Nothing really has changed. Women are still draft dodging cowards but full on expect men to die for them.

This is modern times, women voting for men to die

And here #iwontgo (but send the men to their fucking deaths)

And here (women sacrifice more my ass)

And finally ukraine

Again ukraine (courageous cowards)

This one below is messed up

On the left : Ukrainian women who fled the war, left the men behind and made Tinder accounts in a new country. On the right : men who died to protect Ukraine.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pankhurst is a horrible cunt

[–]prilexx 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Here is my issue. I believe only men should be drafted for the army but if you are going to lower the minimum required scores, put in place some form of quotas etc. then draft them.

I don't believe we are nor that we ever will be equal but to propose that women have rights to be equal in everything good men have but in nothing bad is such a bullshit. Both genders in normal countries (thankfully I live in still normal parts of Europe) have pros and cons. The point of having the ability to have a certain benefit is that you balance it out with some fucked up shit you gotta deal with.

Like y'all want equality in job possibilities when it comes to becoming manager but not one single woman wants that same equality when it comes to fixing high voltage powerlines, picking up garbage or as one famous Dr. likes to give as an example, becoming a bricklayer. (guess which Dr.)
Y'all want to have every man in jail for accused rape but hate it when anyone brings up how much money women get as bonuses for anything and everything, when someone mentions that most of divorce settlement are in favour of women. Y'all want to be perceived as an equally strong gender but still hate it when drafting is in question, defending a home, and not a single one will ever say something against "women and kids first" when evacuations happen... To be honest this last quote is false, it's usually "women and kids first, then dogs, then cats, then monkeys, then ants, then worms, then flys and mosquitoes... Myb at the end men too, we shall see".

The funny thing is that many modern day philosophical thinkers believed that we lived in utopia because we had a near perfect balance of good and evil but we... Better to say some groups really had to ruin it all huh?

For those who are not into psychology and sociology, basically the idea is that we had around 10 years ago very good balance of good and evil and idea is that if you don't have that balance there is no good nor evil. Everything becomes very monotone and you have no way to value good and dislike bad since you can't even tell them apart. And a perfect amount is described that way because we had very few wars, tension between countries was relatively low and homelessness and crime rates were as well very low or under control. Median salary wasn't too bad nor too good either. Unfortunately I forgot what books were covering this and I'm too lazy to go through my bookshelf and every book about society to figure it out. There was some video on yt on this topic that I've seen like 1-2 years ago.

Comment on any of these articles if you can

[–]Axleonder 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Damn... the article demands you subscribe to their magazine to be able to comment. I'm not giving money to them.

I would love to tell them what loathesome right-wing female supremacists they are and how harmful they are to men otherwise.

[–]ABCAJB 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah a lot of these articles have paywalls and do not let you comment unless your subscribed which nobody should do here since these outlets are conservative and are against equality in the law.

If you are on twitter, please be active in getting the attention of the NCFM and helping the NCFM not be drowned out by traditionalists though interacting with these accounts and helping them with their efforts in getting rid of male only conscription: https://twitter.com/mensadvocate https://twitter.com/NCFM_Women https://twitter.com/NCFMCarolinas

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. Some of us here at Men’s Rights are Tradcons. We aren’t the enemy.

[–]pappo4ever -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's fair to draft women, problem is, that it's useless. Women only obstruct men in battle. Its literally more useful to draft 14 year old kids. There are plenty of non-battle jobs in the military, and I think those are already covered by women.

[–]enigmadissassociate -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Women can serve in the military without being a fire squad

[–]CriticalConvo 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then men should be given the option too
