As we look at the uneven scales of equality as it applies to rights and the biased treatment of men vs. women, I felt it might be prudent to point out the most obvious driver for many of these inequalities.
That being the uncomfortable subject of Shelf Life.
It's well established that men of all ages find women in their fertile prime the most desirable, it is regularly identified as sexual marketability. Men and women have a shelf life for procreation and a woman's is comparatively short compared to a man's. This is why young women in their 20s to early 30s have so many options in choosing a mate this gives them tremendous power compared to their mental maturity. This is a volatile mix for these young women.
Conversely, men do not really approach their prime until their mid-30s to '40s and even still are capable of fathering children well beyond the age of women. In their 20s your average male is developing coping skills and learning to deal with and move on from rejection and establish themselves in society, build wealth and create their future. These same men by the time they come into their prime have been educated by life on how to better evaluate women as ideal mates.
Of course, this doesn't apply to everyone just the gross majority. The point here is that there are biological and cultural drivers that have mandated men treat women a given way. That was great 60 yrs ago before the sexual revolution and the advent of "THE PILL". Whereas women were once required to carefully choose their mates they are now empowered to mate without care and of course, it made abortions a necessity to maintain this carefree lifestyle.
All the while men have remained relatively unchanged and only in the last decade have we begun to address the inequalities these changes have driven. Young women are taught to capitalize on traditional males and game the legal system. These legal biases were put in place mainly by men to protect traditional stay-at-home moms and their children but in these modern times are now used as a stick to beat us with. Children are used as tools to acquire a lifestyle and the traditional family is in real jeopardy.
The rub here is that women have a short shelf life By their mid 30's their options start shrinking fast and by 40 are all but gone, add to that the single mom at any age is deemed even less desirable than an infertile one. So now you have the largest percentage of women alive being rejected en masse by the majority of men, even the men they found undesirable in their earlier years. This is the crux of modern feminism, women have a short shelf life and lose power relatively fast within their lifetime, and are desperate to reacquire other power, no matter the cost.
Men again are still trying to figure out the rules of the game so they can play to a stalemate, because if anyone wins everyone loses.
I'm not attempting to justify nor condemn these realities but to point them out as a major driver in why we as a species tend to favor one gender (not gender identity) over another. And how these laws that are absolutely unfair and contrary to equality in any form continue to exist.
I keep using the term Shelf Life because it's the best phrase to illustrate a simple reality. Men can produce viable sperm and impregnate a female well into their geriatric years, women begin losing their ability to get pregnant in their 30s until in their mid-40s to 50s they go through menopause and are no longer viable mothers. Attraction is based almost entirely on procreation, so while we try to focus on so many other attributes in the end we serve nature and it must be horrifying for a woman to hit the wall. A wall men don't hit for decades later. So while society with all of its inequities keeps men on the defensive, nature gave us a much longer shelf life of value. And the biggest joke nature could possibly play is that men die at younger ages than women, we literally die when we hit our shelf expiration date. There is real cruelty in nature to let a woman continue to shrivel on the vine long for so long. No matter how bad we have it guys, we still have this!
