To clarify, I mean "men attracted to masculine traits in women" and "women attracted to feminine traits". So this doesn't really apply to gays or lesbians. Also, I probably didn't word the title as well as I should have. As for me, I am the former.
To be honest, for a while, me not being like a lot of other men did bother me. Me not finding submission or delicateness attractive in women, not wanting to be that strong manly protector, did bother me. Me not wanting to lead and be the alpha, me being attracted to women with muscles, who are willing to fight, who can kill things , dominant and a leader, heroic, have male-dominated interests and hobbies, can stomach horror and gore--Yes, it did bother me.
There were times that it bothered me that I wasn't like many other men. I didn't really find traditional romance and relationship roles that appealing; knowing that I didn't really like to be the manly man who takes care of his girl, comforts her during a scary movie, or wanted her to fawn over my strength and muscles really messed me up.
I felt insecure about being the odd man out, especially since I was watching some Red Pill content at the time and seeing how popular it was becoming. Like I was fucked up or that something was wrong with me mentally and hormonally for not wanting what they want. Now I'm more accepting of myself and I know what I want in a partner and a relationship.
But what about those of you who are like me--men who don't care much for femininity and women who don't care much for masculinity. What was/is it like to be out of the norm? Were you ever insecure about it? And if so, what did you do? Let me know your stories in the comments!
