Yes it sounds mean but. My wife, mother in law and bro in law have always said he was such a tough guy growing up and I've been in the family for just about 15 years now. He has always been a hot head and always uses his emotions and loud voice to manipulate people. He always has a problem with anybody at a store. Always a story to tell about how he almost got in a fight and the other guy backed down... road rage, mailman blah blah blah. He's full of shit and has a huge ego.
Cancer knocked him down a pretty peg or 2. Don't get me wrong, I sympathize for him as my father died 13 years ago due to pancreatic cancer and didn't have a fighting chance. The doctor said my father-in-law can potentially live 3 to 5 more years if all goes according to the plan.
He is 3 months in to being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and he is totally depressed and does nothing but cry when the family comes to visit him. He doesn't eat, he sleeps a lot as expected.
What I'm trying to get across here though is that my wife and mother-in-law resent him more than ever at this point. Especially when he cries and sleeps and complains about the pain. I've been following the red pill and applying all the knowledge I've gained for over a year and my life is turned around tremendously. But this isn't about me.
Even at your worst, when you are not strong and can barely help yourself, the women in your life still will resent you for being a worthless cancer ridden person who can't help themselves. They are not evil women, my father-in-law just has nothing to offer them anymore it seems. He isn't even trying, he used to boast how tough and strong he was and he's been through hell because his dad and stepdad beat him as a kid. Such a pathetic beta.
Cancer and sickness does not give you a free pass to be a pussy. Even I resent him sometimes when he's crying in front of my 8 year old daughter and 15 year old son sobbing that he's afraid to die.
Do I say something to him? Like, it really urks me when my kids are uncomfortable when he cries like that. My wife just looks at me and shakes her head when he's doing that. I just don't want them feeling bad because he can't contain his emotions. It can be traumatizing for sure.
Mother in law has said "I can't wait til this is over. I hate babying a 69 year old man".
I just don't know how to deal with this. I want to slap him and tell him to stop the cry baby shit, the females still need you to be strong. My wife is over the part where he dies and I'm battle hardened due to so many friends and family members dying over the years.
Anyone have anything to add or similar experiences??
