Could be because men aren't looked after in difficult times, while women are protected and offered things a man would not get. Men are often left off to fend for themselves.

A homeless woman and a homeless man sitting on a sidewalk, the woman will always get more money.

This is good data but the conclusion reinforces what we already know.

Men make up about 80% of suicide victims. Women attempt suicide more, but men succeed more.
