1. Yes women don't need to approach but they get approached by a lot of men they're not attracted to and have to tolerate it in the name of politeness
  2. Date Rape and Assault is a thing. Enough said
  3. Women have a shorter amount of time to get their act together aka being marriage ready. Men have more time on their side.
  4. Being a beautiful attractive woman is hard work. Lots of investment in beauty products, discipline with diet (women add weight much easier than men because of estrogen), workout. These days women have to be of reasonable economic strata to attract higher value men. No man wants an economic liability. More often than not poor women marry poor guys.
  5. A woman that doesn't get approached is effectively being rejected by everyone and that hurts her confidence the same as a guy who gets rejected directly.
