She totally made it all up, either to get a quick payday or to blackmail a promotion. So if I'm understanding this right, she used the good ol' "I'm entitled to that position even if others are equally or more qualified because I'm a woman" argument and was willing to grasp at whatever straw she could find. We've all met these Karens in businesses. I had one for a biology lecturer. She failed her phd in biology and yet ws lecturing in a university prep course. It was obviuos she wasnt happy because she was a fkup in the sme position for 10yrs.
