"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

In fairness what they mean is if they acknowledge this then most men by the time they are the same age have other health conditions that would need to be taken account of also. The older workforce would be defacto early retired.

When they synchronised the retirement age they could have lowered men to align with women, no they raised women lol successful failure by the femanists there.

Just 2 days ago...

And typically The Guardian obfuscated this by bringing doubtful “studies” about women’s health and access!

What would making menopause a “protected characteristic” actually mean? I got informed that regular workers can take a week off at a time without a medical certificate in the UK under law (I had one day off in the 5 years I worked there due to illness), so do women need months off due to “the change”? Seriously?

Clearly this is aiming to give women special rights. I’m glad it was rejected, although I doubt the motivation for its rejection.

Its self certification for first 7 days of an absence due to illness. But generally you will find that its periods of illness that are tracked rather than just days so if you are just taking the piss with a bunch of unrelated issues you will end up on the discipline track leading to dismissal.

Related multiple absences are generally treated differently however.

Wow, something rejected because it might affect men negatively? That's certainly a twist.

[–]NeoVidia 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Seems like lately men’s issues are slowly being taken more seriously…

[–]IceCorrect 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I dont belive its the reason

[–]Oxoperplexed 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I’m pretty sure FGM is banned in UK, but MGM is allowed.

[–]arrouk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Separate issues.

Let's take the win on 1 and keep working on the other

[–]Oxoperplexed 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Sure. I was just pointing out hypocrisy. It’s related.

[–]arrouk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As I point out in my main comment, this isn't driven by hate for men or women, it's just money.

Mgm has 2 main issues, people are making money from it and Americans are indifferent about it mostly and that's where the sjw's are mostly

[–]Oxoperplexed 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Agreed, except I see a TON of misandry related to MGM.

[–]arrouk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There used to be the same arguments for fgm, the lead on being widely hated, that just leaves us room to improve.

Feminists telling you to not reduce women to their body and yet they do it.

[–]Fantastic_Box3257 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Very early they realise that there is something called as discrimination against men

[–]ERiC_693 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is simply businesses lobbying the government to block this as they're sick of women taking time off and then wanting to be quotad into managerial positions. Feminists anting special treatment is nothing new.

This is not done to protect men.

[–]63daddy 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It was discriminatory against men.

It also gets into equal pay for equal work. If women are going to get more time off thereby doing less work, should they still receive equal pay?

Aside from sex discrimination this is unfair to people of both sexes with other health issues. Why should someone with migraine headaches get less time off than a woman with bad menstrual cycles?

[–]BrokeMacMountain 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know in spain, a law was just passed allowing women to take time off every month on full pay for their period.

Assuming they get 3 days off, on full pay...

12 (months per year) - 1 month (for standard holidays) = 11

11 (months) x 3 (days per month) = 33 days per year.

Women work 10 months Men work 11

How is this fair?
