I saw a girl long distance the first few months of this year. Only met her a few times but they were good (lots of sex, she said she loved me, etc). Over the summer she became increasingly distant. I reciprocated by also acting distant. We haven't spoken for the past 6 weeks. A couple days ago I texted her something simple (how she's doing) and no response.

With high probability, she's moved on.

With low probability, she's busy and missed my text. (This happened even when she was into me)

I'm having a hard time finding it within myself to let her go / not text her again. I really liked her. Part of me wants to text her again trying to get clarity about what she's feeling, but I can't figure out a way to do it without sounding like a beta.

""" Hey ______, you still interested in me? I know you're busy, but you seem a bit distant. I still really care about you, but if you aren't interested, I understand. """

Any suggestions? Is the alpha move to just ... disengage? Wait until I have a cool event to invite her to in a month or something?

Getting her on the phone would be ideal, but if she wasn't even willing to respond to my text, phone call seems like a hassle to her. I'm open to suggestions about how to ask though.

I have a wedding in a couple weeks that would be fun to take her to, but I wonder if it's a beta move to invite her at this point. (Recall that she's thousands of miles away.) "Doesn't this guy have anyone else to go with?"
