The Pew Study that was just released a few days ago has essentially proven that dating in today’s world is one where there are a few top guys getting a lot a slightly larger middle getting a few and then a bottom half with whatever is left. This idea comes from the nearly double amount of single men in the same age group as women.

Yet when this article was shared in a few other subs on reddit there was a lot of people suggesting that men clearly are not “interacting” with women. In fact there was at least 1 article citing this paper that stated that “men are turning to porn, video games, and drugs” instead of talking to women.

Now I was no where near the top of my college stats classes but the stats Pew put out don’t show men are choosing anything else over prioritizing women. The only logical conclusion that can really come from the stats is that women in the same age group as men are clearly getting sex and dates from other venues. Some are also saying that a 1/4 of younger women identify as queer but if that had a significant affect on this issue then there should be a much larger population of young lesbian women than gay men (as that can then account for more women pairing off with other women). Since there are still MORE gay men than lesbian women it’s not a very good answer.

Which leaves the only rational conclusion: Dating has started to mirror the real economy aka Winner Takes All. The other single biggest point in favor of this idea is how more women are getting stds than men.

IMO this is the obvious conclusion and yet go on any other subreddit where the Pew article was shared and anyone who says this is shut down pretty quick and the loudest voices seem to be anyone telling men to go take a shower and touch grass
