Good. A female guilty of domestic violence is actually found guilty of it, and the news article doesn't report it as "Brave, desperate woman sentenced for trying to escape abusive husband". Attitudes are changing for the better.

Kristy Ryan McDermed, 35, could face penalties ranging up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine when she is sentenced by 35th District Judge James Plakas for a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

Seems kind of low for domestic violence and attempting to hire someone to commit further assaults (not sure what the charge is but it's definitely illegal).

And that's assuming she even gets that harsh of a sentence, which history suggests won't happen.

That poor woman! Imagine what her awful husband must have done to her to make her so desperate!

She needs counseling, not punishment.
