[Edit: Thank you for the reasonable and helpful responses everyone. It really is ridiculous that this even has to be such an issue; this girl hasn't done anything truly wrong, just some things which could get someone else in trouble based on the ridiculous reactions of others. She is basically (as far as I can tell) a talkative and rather funny young girl who may not realize proper social boundaries for older "boys".

I'm going to mention to my boss that this one girl seems to maybe have a crush on me and it has made me a bit uncomfortable a couple times (mostly that hug). My boss is a woman, which I hope works to my favor in this instance. ("Oh, I understand the situation, I had crushes on older guys too at her age.") If she tries to hug me again, I'll gently explain that it's inappropriate. Definitely going to stay in plain view of other people during times when she talks to me; there's really no reason we'd go into a corner or a separate room anyway; I have to watch the pool, and on break times I'll just make sure we're not alone either. (Unlikely anyway, but I'll be aware.) I am happy if I can be someone to listen to her, and to be honest her stories are more entertaining than those of most of the adult patrons haha.

Ok but yeah, thanks everyone, I feel better now!]

I've seen a few threads on here about false rape or harassment accusations, so I figured I'd talk about a somewhat worrying situation I have and see what any of you think I should do about it. Thank you for any responses!

I'm a lifeguard at an indoor pool. I'm in my early 20s. Recently, there's been an 11 year old girl coming in for open swim times who has made me a bit...uncomfortable a few times. I don't mean to sound paranoid, and I'm really not SCARED (at least yet): it's highly highly unlikely that I'd ever be alone with her, seeing as how there's another lifeguard for most shifts (occasioanlly I'm alone) and then other patrons anyway.

But anyway; she's just very very talkative to me to an extent and in a way that isn't quite "flirty", but, I don't know, maybe she has a "crush". Like she'll stand next to me while I'm in the guard chair or standing, and ask/tell me about stuff for like 10 minutes straight; co-workers have commented that it looks like her and I are good friends, and we are most definitely not.

Worst thing has been she's hugged me once while she was in a swim-suit...I obviously didn't hug back.

Recently she saw me after my work shifts and her times of swimming hadn't lined up for a few weeks, and told me she really missed me. She's asked me for my Facebook too, obviously I haven't added her. She hasn't sent me a request, but knows my name, she could find me.

She told me recently her uncle is a cop; not in a threatening way, but, still, with all of this together I don't super like that fact either...

Again, she's never said anything sexual and we've never been alone together, and she is only 11, but, young girls can be stupid and parents can be overprotective.

It's an awkward situation where she hasn't done anything quite bad enough for it to feel right for me to tell her "Hey ya know that's really inappropriate you can't do that", or tell my boss, but, I could see things turning south...

Anyone had a similar situation, have any advice?

Thanks!
