I saw "Delivery Man" last night, for lack of a better option at my local cinema, and the movie was okay. Believe me, I'm doing this film a HUGE favor by calling it okay, and the reason is the uplifting monologue delivered by Vince Vaughn's character at the end of the movie. I am going to paraphrase him, but SPOILERS AHEAD for those who still want to watch the film.

Vaughn's character has, through the err of a sperm bank, sired 533 children, and is in the middle of a huge legal battle to protect his identity.

To add on to the 533 children who are now grown adults, Vaughn's character is also about to have a "real" baby with his girlfriend.

In the hospital nursery, as they fawn over their newborn, Vaughn decides it is time to tell his sweetheart that he is, in fact, "Starbuck", the now notorious (thanks to the media) sire of the 533 kids looking to find their biological father.

Upon learning this, his girlfriend, in a fit of rage, exclaims "You are no longer this babies father!" And in a moment of writing brilliance and superb strength and appropriate aggression, Vaughn enters his monologue:

"Honey, I've had some time over the past few weeks to do some thinking. And believe me, I've been REALLY thinking, and trying to do right by the world and make something of myself. And you know what I've learned after doing this thinking? That NOBODY, and I MEAN NOBODY! Not you, Not a Judge, Not Dr.Phil, Not the government, Not anybody, BUT THE FATHER, gets to decide if HE IS THE FATHER, AND I AM THE FATHER OF THIS BABY."

Oh man, that was refreshing to see, the crappy movie that it was semi-redeemed itself with that moment of brilliance.
