By their own logic it goes both ways. I guess we can concentrate on men and it will liberate women too, right?

Intellectually I believe we should be far less tolerant of the sorts of claims to knowledge these kinds of talks presuppose. He uncritically gets off on the wrong foot straight away by discussing the sorts of things "society" supposedly "teaches" young boys, and we should really reject every such claim as a rule. Epistemologically, how does he know what this "society" is teaching, telling, conditioning, or socializing any of us to do? He just carelessly leaps head first into some serious issues and there isn't enough resistance from a purely scientific perspective to the possibility of even possessing that type of knowledge to begin with.

I would disagree with him that "society" teaches young boys that women are inherently less valuable, going so far as to actually say that "society" teaches boys precisely the opposite in fact, that is, that women are inherently more valuable. Which of us is right? Where does the truth really reside? How two contrary assertions of this nature about "society" and "socialization" are to be mitigated is uncertain territory.
