I regularly watch Jeff's stuff. For the most part he is spot on about a lot of stuff in the gaming industry. As a gamer, even if I disagree with something, I like to watch his jimquisition shows. When he confronts a point it's fantastic as long as it has nothing to do with the gender debate.

That said, he is so heavily "indoctronated" with the Feminist brand koolaid you can practically see when he turns on the old college cuircuit brakers when he enguages his "Gender studies" drive.

The man is very intelligent and a lot of his arguments are based on logic. He connection to gender issues (LGBT community) has, unfortuantely, built up his understanding of the MRM, MRA's and the "Anti-feminist" seachange on lies.

his logic is sound, the foundation of that logic is false.

I'm not making excuses for him and it's ironic because a lot of his "non gendered" arguments are very much the same base arguments a lot of us have against feminists... but he is so far back in the gendered Echelon, he thinks Anita Sarkeesian isn't a hack but is just being "bashed" because she is a "girl". No, She is a scam artist who made baseless accusations and "convinced herself" that they were true.

I enjoy his non-biased logic, I cannot fucking stand his gender politics (because it's basically Hugo flavor). In the end I binge on him once every two months and just feel bad for his myopoia.

I badly want to write/make a video politely and critically confronting some of his misconceptions of the "MRA's" and Feminism, but I have seen his response to similar overtures. Logical and sound debate is ignored, and he cherry picks the misogynist frat-boys to project on the MRM. (who have nothing to do with the movement).

The idea of a "male safe-space" is offensive to him because he empathizes as a homosexual, not a man, he already has his "safe space" advocacy and then, from that, interprets a male requirement as the old thing about how men can't be oppressed /feminist party line.

If he was supplied with the facts instead of the feel-good tropes of the last 40 years if gender politics, he would be a different beast all-together. It's a shame and waste, and I feel bad for him and most of his viewership.

Was the issue even mentioned here? I haven't seen it posted. Really, I think the issue is the circular logic that feminists in general subscribe to. Video games shouldn't be allowed to handle adult subject matter because it is an infant medium incapable of handling it well, and it is incapable of handling it because it is not allowed to gain any practice in it. It's just annoying when it becomes a political stance instead of just a preference (like how most people don't see it as political if you watch Arnold kill a bunch of dudes in a movie).

That said, given how far out of whack things seem right now in gaming (and tech), I can understand why people would latch onto something like GTA as a clear and extremely popular example of what they see as a very real problem right now. It’s still a very young medium with a lot of very tough growing to do, so in some ways it’s only natural that we’re starting to have these discussions more and more.

After the whole Adria Richards thing, I'm proud of "geeks", "nerds" and tech culture. I don't want women to simply walk all over men like everywhere else and I have no respect for men who bend over backwards and allow women to do so. You don't like games? Guess what, you can go make your own. Plenty of successful people made very successful games on their own. Stop demanding men do everything for you.

I don't think a game who's very essence is to be controversial and violent is a good thing to make generalizations with.

Its like watching Hostel, or Texas Chainsae massacre and saying all movies are violent torture fests
