I'm pretty sure no sane being, feminist or otherwise, thinks what happened was anything short of barbaric and horrible.

This is so obviously horrible that no one needs to be made aware of that fact. Another possibility is that this is more of a humans right's issue than a women's rights issue, so they are not too interested in it.

But I wonder, why do you think they are quiet over this issue? What are you implying (if anything) with your post? That they are more lenient when other cultures commit crimes against women? This is true, but we knew that already.
