Know this. You will have to work. I don't mean just work, I mean this will consume every free hour of every minute you have. You will not only have to be politically respectable in public eye, but a people person, and all out the best possible painting of the movement you wish to start. Sadly this is a necessity, you have to be your own mini-politician.

To help guide you, listen to this TED talk on how to start a movement. It's short, very funny, and very insightful. You will want to contact your relevant local human rights organizations within the state, talk to anyone who will talk to you extensively on the topic. Formulate a manifesto, encourage moderates and discourage extremism. The more people you talk to and friends you make, the sooner you can get a social momentum moving forward.

Once you have spoken to and created a rapport with your fellow social movements, spread out to churches. You're on the right road. Get people who can come, talk to churches and event organizers, hand out fliers for a public space meeting. Make them warm and inviting, no fancy graphics or text are really needed. Simple things like providing free coffee, but all of this could easily be determined by speaking freely with your fellow social movements.

Another note, again, on your local social movements. The humanist movement in California is not small, and talking to just about anyone associated with it would give you a huge leg up. You can start with some e-mails and short phone calls, make lists of questions and fish for help. A good idea is to do research in to what you are doing, and study how others did it, before creating questions to ask. Once all that is put together, you should have a small membership and also your movement going. At this point you can begin community outreach, get well known, and only once you have a clearly defined achievable goal you can make a serious fundraiser.

So that's the gist of it, I think. Be friendly, well known, and helpful. Establish yourself as moderate and not antagonistic. The more groups you work with the stronger you, as an individual movement, will be.

Be focused. Pick one thing you want to change and stay on it. You can't get everything changed at once so don't dilute your own message.

TL, DR: Wall of text containing the current war plan. A living document with undoubtedly many changes to come. (most of this is just me committing thoughts to e-paper; comment/bash/critique as you will)

The final goal of this movement will be equality for men and women in the state of California, in all areas of law. That is to say, neither sex shall be advantaged/disadvantaged due to state/county/local law.

A two-pronged approach comprising social and legislative and legislative actions shall be taken, with the following priorities:

A. Social

Support and fundraising for non-permanent, non-surgical male contraceptives comparable to condoms in effectiveness. The current forerunner (in my opinion) would be Vasalgel, which is currently taking donations in support of the tech. This would allow men to take their reproductive destiny back into their own hands.
Pushing accurate statistics depicting the balance of power between males & females into as many public spheres of discussion as possible. Countering feminist propaganda and societal apathy will be one of the largest hurdles this movement will face.
Supporting boys through Big Brothers/Big Sisters and similar programs. This can be done on an individual basis, and is necessary to let boys know they are not alone... that they have allies and friends.
Supporting male learning styles through volunteering at schools, after-school programs and other points of social contact.
Lobby the American Academy of Pediatrics to firmly stand against circumcision in any case excepting medical necessity.
Decisive, significant counter-demonstrations at feminist demonstrations/events that are advocating misandry in action, word or statute.
Run counter-campaigns to demonstrate that men and women are both perpetrators of sexual crime, domestic violence, etc.
Combating the feminist-driven demonization of masculity through introduction of terms such as kyriarchy into the public sphere. This should help to shift discussion from the evils of men to general societal oppression.

B. Legislative

The passage of an amendment essentially similar to the federal Equal Rights Amendment into the California State Constitution. This would be key in supporting the implementation of many other legislative actions and challenges. Not to be confused with the folks pursuing a similarly-named initiative.
The abolition of alimony. Period.
The limitation of child support to where paternity has been demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt through genetic testing or similar means. Also including limits on amounts awarded as a % of after-tax income and stipulations that awards only be spent on child care. Also allow for modification and challenge of child support awards based on payee income. Finally, allow agreements on child-support to be valid and enforceable parts of a prenuptial contract. Alternatively, the party filing for divorce forfeits all rights to alimony/child support.
The elimination of gendered benefits or prejudice in current domestic violence law. Any model of domestic violence or training
(this may be thoroughly controversial, but what the hey) Reclassification of rape and sexual assault into a tiered system of sexual assault. For example, what is currently classified as rape would be first-degree sexual assault, with lessening severity according to offense much like murder is treated. The purpose of this would be to remove the overly emotional and prejudicial term 'rape' from judicial discourse, and hopefully encourage less hysterical/emotional discourse on sexual crimes.
The development of legal paternal surrender (surrendering a father's right to visitation and contact with a child in exchange for no legal obligations of support) or affirmative parenthood (no legal obligation of fatherhood unless a father opts in) options for men. This will put men and women on equal standing as far as opting out of parenthood.
The elimination of gendered state-funded programs such as WIC that do not provide equally-funded benefits to both genders.
The elimination of gendered scholarships in public universities unless funding parity is achieved for both genders.
Prohibiting infant circumcision except for cases of medical necessity, and mandating sufficient anesthesia to mostly eliminate the pain associated with the procedure.

Things outside the scope of advocacy for this movement:

Gay rights
Racial advocacy
Issues specifically concerning females
Social issues faced by men. My opinion is that legal issues have the weight of the state behind them, and are consequently much more deadly/destructive to men.
Social equality between men and women. I am of the opinion that this cannot be forced and will happen gradually when the changes indicated above are implemented.
