I could be wrong, but I believe that implies he was already in the bathroom and then peeped into a stall, not just accidentally walking into the bathroom and then realising his mistake.

I remember once I went to a band concert at a high school i walked into the girls bathroom and went to the first stall and then a couple of girls walked in i immediately found out my mistake.. almost cried trying to escape without people noticing.
