The UK National Society for the Protection of Children [but not male babies who have had their genitals mutilated] now has a telephone "hotline" for you to report female genital mutilation only.

Here it is: 0800 028 3550. To call from outside the UK you would dial: +44 800 028 3550.

You can also email: [email protected]

Try giving it a ring and reporting your concerns for the millions of male babies whose genitals are being mutilated. I'll be calling later, and I'll let you know what happens!

EDIT: I called and will report later. I think it's fair to call, but please keep your call respectful, brief and to the point. We should not be seen to be hassling them or give them the idea we are trying to waste their time. The result should be that they report back to their team leaders etc., and are finding the whole thing difficult as it's hard for them to give a reasoned and fair answer.
