I'm glad that he spoke up about this. Despite the status quo and the "99% of rapists are men" nonsense people like to say, this kind of thing is not at all an uncommon form of sexual abuse. What is uncommon is for the boys to report it, and much more so for the abusers to be imprisoned or the boys to get support

I was 8 the first time I was sexually abused and 11 the first time I was raped by women--also friends of my mother's (a big difference being that in my case my mother knew about and enabled it). And I did report it to a principal, a teacher, and eventually the police, but nothing came of it

There are still so many (including professionals like police and psychologists) who think this kind of thing is extremely rare and / or that it doesn't damage boys; publicizing stories like these helps dispel both of those myths
