Removed because apostrophe may distort results.
Also, screenshots like this have little significance and can be easily faked.

That apostrophe is suspicious. I bet all the men's charities were titled "_____ for men"
[–]PudgeHasACuteButt 75 points76 points77 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
yea, looks like it. could you screenshot it without the apostrophe OP?

Then he wouldn’t have a point to make and couldn’t rile people up for no reason

The issue is, without the apostrophe you get a massive list of everything containing the phrase (not word) "men", including "mental health", "empowerment", "Susan G Komen", "women", "department", "environmental". Only two of them are actually for men: Boys to Men Mentoring, and 100 Black men Of Chicago.

Give me the link to the website so I can just type “men” or “mra” without the sus apostrophe and then I’ll believe it.

Women’s sports foundation?

I had the absolute privilege of watching an adult female full contact football game last weekend, it was right after the male one and on the same field, which I had gone out to watch. I have played football since I was a little kid, and to say the women played like little children is an understatement. It was embarrassing just to watch. The women's football version of a tackle is your opponent putting her hands on your shoulders and you saying "Ok I give up" and the play stops there.

That's not full contact. That's touch-tackle.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Had never heard of touch-tackle, interesting game just googled it. No this was not touch-tackle. They were in full contact equipment, helmets and all. There were a few "tackles" by the bigger butch-er women but even those were embarrassing to watch.

Touch-tackle is to Football as Tee Ball is to Baseball. Something rarely seen outside of elementary school.

God I hated playing "baseball" with a big mushy soft ball in highschool. I'm a big and strong guy and a direct full force hit on that ball would make it go maybe 10 feet. Such a stupid game.
[–]-Master-Builder- 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That's Softball, not baseball. Softball gets thrown underhand.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No this was a smaller ball that a softball and still thrown overhand. But it still isn't true baseball, that's why I used quotations marks around baseball.
[–]-Master-Builder- 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Actually, sounds like you were playing Ragball. Literally a ball made of rags stitched into a round shape. A softball would go further than 10 feet.

Ok but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get to play though. If they want the same opportunities they should be able to get them, and if you are not a fan (I am not either) then just move along and let them play on the same fields and such.
It would be different if they wanted to be put in mens pro leagues and have women specific rules for them or something but that is not the case.

Uhh I think you are attributing opinions to me that I don't hold here bud. Women should have every right to play whatever sports they want just like men do. I was just sharing the experience of how funny it was to watch women play a full contact sport that is obviously better suited for large aggressive men.

The “empathy gap”. Is this an established term or do I owe you credit for this lovely bit of wordage?

And people wonder why dudes are starting to wear wigs and dresses
[–]xfritz5375 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean it makes sense to have a women’s sports charity over a men’s sports charity since women’s sports are underrepresented relative to men’s sports, but the others and the fact that a sports charity is above any men’s charity is stupid

Give to the VFW, or American Legion.
Close enough.

For anyone interested, there's a men-only homeless shelter named Earl's Place. It's a really great organization and I've met some of the men who live there and made a donation myself. It's the only men-only shelter I know of in the US, and I couldn't be more happy it exists
