More evidence that we should not be surprised when research provides confirmation of long-term stereotypes.

Could shoe preference be a factor?

Women are more likely in non-business settings to wear flimsy or heeled shoes that would not perform well on non paved surfaces.

Tennis shoes? Loafers? Boots? Bring on the gravel.

I’m usually wearing sneakers and I still can’t navigate worth a damn, so I doubt shoes play a factor.

Does the article just talk about walking or does it include driving?

[–]_Leukocyte_ 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It was a "walking" experiment. It used a real life analogue and a digital analogue (to control for mens general faster walking pace in a straight line).

This applies to driving as well. Bicycling too.

You're really stretching it in a futile attempt to throw shade on the what we have all know to be true for millennia.

[–]_Leukocyte_ 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I havent been alive for a millenia, i dont know about you.

[–]TibortheChechen[S] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh, I get it, you're one of those millennials programmed to deny any and all sex differences.

Mmm-kay.

[–]_Leukocyte_ 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well that is a leap

[–]TibortheChechen[S] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It will all become clear after you pass through puberty and get to know some females.

Have a great day.

One more reason the system is pushing for women out front. The established corporate world doesn't want new competition rocking the boat.

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at archive.is. If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:

Try again later. Check your network connection. If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web.

It's probably your DNS server, some block the site.

Cool story. Not related to the MRM in any way, shape, or form.

We can get to point B faster but I'd really much rather get to equality.

[–]mikesteane 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

> Not related to the MRM in any way, shape, or form.

The denial of sex differences is used to derive the conclusion that all unequal outcomes are the result of discrimination to support the demand that compensatory mechanisms be put in place, at the expense of men, to the benefit of feminists. This pattern is common to all expressions of feminism and is the justification for a great deal of male bashing. Thus evidence that that there are very real and innate sex differences (which ought to be self-evident) is fundamental to the MRM.

[–]GreyTortoise 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I see the merits in your arguments, but ultimately skipping the discussion of the obvious sex differences will benefit us more. Mentioning where men outperform average women will give feminists the brush to paint us as misogynists just for being logical and observant.

Focus on the goals, the issues themselves, this is how early feminism got off the ground after thirty years of being seen as insane lesbianism.

I doubt it. Conforming to approved truths will not benefit anyone.

I really wish you self-appointed little minions would stop rasping in every fifth thread that it's not related to MRM.

Don't like a thread?

Move to another.

Does this have to be caused by spacial reasoning as many commenters are claiming, or is this just an extension of men, on average, being less risk-averse? The drawback of looking for shortcuts is that you can also run into unforeseen delays, get lost, or, in the circumstances where human evolution mostly took place, get into a dangerous situation, so it would make sense for the sex which is more likely to take risks in general to also be more "experimental" with navigation.
