It's mindboggling that she thought she could get away with this. Names of lottery winners are published in most cases.

This was over 18 years ago. I doubt such a ruling would have occurred in today's courts. He would be lucky to get half now.

Oyler, her attorney, said he might have had a chance during the divorce to help her keep the winnings--if she had only told him about them at the time.

"I could have argued successfully that it was her separate property," he said. "Or we could have argued and we would have reached some adjustment. But the judge got mad and gave it all to him."

Wasn't it HER lottery winnings? It's dumb that people get payouts just for being married at one point in time. I'd rather that than celebrate the roles reversed

I don't care whether or not it is mindb lowing. I believe it is absurd if on spouse is entitled to the half of the wealth of the richer one. That's disgusting. I don't think there is anything to celebrate about it, that this time a man is the disgusting one in the relationship.
