They regularly were buying lottery tickets together. There is precedent of they both sharing previous small gains. Then he saw one ticket won big, took the ticket and left. She is arguing that ticket was like the other ones, he argues he bought that one for himself and she had no knowledge.

If she is saying the the truth she deserves half of it. This is not about men-women, marriage or being boyfriends. It is about an oral deal. If the issue was about two friends or two work partners it still be the same.

To be honest, I find hard to believe they were buying tickets together (the article says there is evidence) and then he decided to buy one ticket alone, which happened to be the one that won big. Anything is possible, but it sounds like he saw the ticket won millions and decided to run with it to not share the profits.
