Unless, that is, the girl wants to live in a building that doesn't fall down or ride in a plane that doesn't crash. Then the truth is very important. But most chicks live in an emotional stew that is not accessible to guys, who have to abide by reality to a greater extent.

I feel like a lot of men are also pushed around by their feelings more than rational thought.

Ever heard this, "oi, you talking to me?" It doesn't matter if the guy is being anti-social, the last thing he wants is to be corrected, and his precious feelings are hurt and so he becomes willing to fight - even though his rational mind might conclude that fighting could lead to injury, and he could learn something about how he affects others.

Men and women both experience lives where they let their feelings rule them until they get hurt. The girl will date the bad boy until he beats her up good. The guy will start fights with other drivers on the road until one calls his bluff and beats him up good.

Older men and older women are both wiser. The older woman finally recognises a respectful guy is a healthier relationship option long-term. The older man lets dickheads on the road go their own way and don't taunt them.

TL;DR youth is a better gauge as to whether a person puts priority in feelings or reality.

I think its a question of human stupidity in general. Hippocrates put it best. "There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the latter ignorance." The scientific way to approach emotion here is to understand it emanates from the brain not the heart and can therefore be calibrated or when in excess suppressed by logic. When I was in jail some kid wanted to fight me because I said Lebron was frustrated and in his opinion when King James walked off the court after losing he was a "bitch". Irrationality is just part of the human condition

There are many women who do extremely well in academia, which involves memorizing facts and equations.

It’s not often, however, that you see many females generating brand-new ideas out of thin air. Inventiveness like that tends to be a male-dominated thing.
