I mean, reading it, it sounds like the father was a victim of abuse too. At least, that's what his behavior and testimony seems to indicate. It's almost so textbook that it's kinda embarrassing the judge didn't recognize that and lawyer didn't try that defense.

Not too long ago, there was a case of a mother who ended up killing her daughter, she had a boyfriend who had physically assaulted the girl, but the mother was the killer in the end.

He got more time than she got nothing extra for failing to prevent the abuse.

This is the competency gap. Men are seen as almost always and without exception competent enough to handle any situation. Where-ever they are, whatever they are doing, the man is assumed to be the one in responsible.

the legal institution...divorce court, schools and colleges, government programs, government grants, etc. Everywhere where women need extra help or extra push or an extra pass to compete with a man.

Hell even the recent Gillette ad that women loved. Women need and want men to save them from other men. Why?

I just want to be clear that I completely and strongly disagree that women arent as competent. But in a society that coddles them....and where feminists strongly lobby for more coddling....its just making it worse. Nobody respects someone coddled.
