None of the shitshow would have happened if you had not solely focused on the “self-improvement” part of the redpill, but also spent some time on the “how women work” part of it.

Before trying to appreciate her or anything, first determine if she's already up to unacceptable behaviour. If yes, don't encourage bad behaviour. Strictly speaking, if there's another man entering the picture, it is NEVER just friends. If he was just a friend, he wouldn't even be on the radar for one to one time.

Anyway, no one gets mastery overnight. The marketplace is only interested in the finished product, but everyone is a work in progress. No one learnt to walk without falling.

Learn to handle pain well. A lot of problems happen because we don't know how to witness pain and let it come and go, instead we get sucked into it or deny it or fear it or start thinking we can't survive this. That's where the problems come. Close your nose for 2 minutes if you can, and every cell in your body will scream "Fuck you and your ex, I need air. NOW." Your body really handles it better than your mind.

To be honest I think you would have lost her either way. The odds of keeping a girl these days are so slim. Not worth the hassle. Pump and dump is the way.
