The only thing it "confirmed" was that in a survey, people considered men to be more creepy than women when they had to choose between the two. This can be interpreted different ways:

For example, suppose a survey found that many people considered Black people more threatening than White people. Would this be seen as a reflection on Black people's actual behavior, or on people's prejudice perceptions? It's already been found that even when they commit the exact same behavior as women, people tend to condemn men more harshly and perceive their behavior as more harassing

So really, this "study" does not even show that *men's behavior* in fact more creepy. It only shows that people *perceive* men as more creepy. It's like the gender version of racial profiling: people see a man, and automatically assume he must be up to no good, he must be a "creep". Whereas too often women get away with crap because people assume her intentions must be harmless

On the plus side, a lot of the top comments are calling it out on the Facebook page

Study of 5th grade girls confirms boys are icky and gross. Eww. Of course childish women would say guys are creepy. They spend all their time allowing themselves to be pursued by the creepiest guys.

Basically, men are more often seen as a threat by wymen, and so creepiness automatically lands more often on men for said wymen.

It's being judgmental without any facts really, so the person calling a perfect stranger they know nothing about a creep, is the person in the wrong for passing an unfounded judgement really.

And I've definitely encountered female creeps in my lifetime, and plenty of em. But hey, I was just judging...

1,341 people in the sample, 95% (1274) people said that peope with their outlined 'creepy' attributes are MORE LIKELY to be men than women. Vice then goes on to claim that this study shows that "there is some truth to the idea that all creeps are dudes".

When Vice interprets '1,274 people saying men are more likely to be creepy than women' as "All 3,861,257,275 men in the world are creepy" then you have a shitty news organisation.

Aside from that insane leap in conclusion from that tiny sample, the sample isn't even saying what Vice is, you halfwits.
