USA: Writer named on Shitty Media Men list sues its creator journalist Moira Donegan, who has written for the Guardian, asking for $1.5m in damages. Elliott also included in his suit 30 “Jane Does” – the currently anonymous women who contributed to the list.

Good. Hopefully he'll get more but I doubt it. Finally glad to see somewhat regularly lawsuits coming against disgusting false accusers. Says there's a lot of support in terms of people donating for HER defence so still a long way to go.

What does “believe women“ mean when it isn’t even clear that an anonymous accuser is a woman? Anyone—male or female—with access to the list could have added my name while it was online.

I found this quite interesting. In this case it wouldn't be "believe women" or "believe survivors" as there is no accuser just an accused so surely it isn't about believing women or believing survivors but simply believing men are guilty.

Also in a somewhat related, does anyone find it telling how 'believe women' exists at all when 'believe survivors' includes every form of human being including women?

Surely having a separate hashtag/catchphrase just for women undermines the inclusivity of 'believe survivors' and tries to shift focus from all survivors to mostly women survivors

I'm glad he's standing up for himself. I hope that he wins the case and that some of his accusers are exposed and made to answer for their writings or at least be made to corroborate their claims. I wonder if anyone else will come forward and join the lawsuit.
