The Government is passing the Buck and using the name of the Samaritans to gloss over the bias against men.

The Samaritans have recently changed their whole organisation and training for all Samaritans. They are haemorrhaging volunteers who disagree with the straight jackets that volunteers have been driven into over the last years.

Volunteers are not even trained to recognise gender differences between Men and Women and suicide, and due to the Volunteer base being predominately female the bias against men has been made worse and not better.

Volunteer have been given a poor quality checklist to follow and routinely fail to ask callers the most significant question - "Are You Suicidal". That is the single most question to ask and when asked the question most likely to relive pressure and avoid suicide. The Calm Zone is the only Male centric Suicide support and prevention service in the UK - what a pity the Government is going to fund the WRONG Service and not alter the stats.

I think the original poster is referring to fact that it is a woman who has been appointed. This is not a problem and provided help is provided top men and boys then not an issue.

Darling as The OP I'm very Clear - the Government are not tackling the issue just covering it up. I don't give a tinkers cuss is the Faux Minister for Suicide is Male or Female... it is that it is a Sop, Cover-up, Chicanery, Diversionary Tactic that I object to - and giving Money to the Anti Male Samaritans just emphasises that more.

Why create a Glove Puppet Minister when The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care is perfect for The Job?

Lets see if Ms Faux Minister is up to speed and getting her act together by International Men's Day and is present and Accounting for the Government's Position at the International Men's Day Debate, on or about Monday 19 November 2018. I Hope she is not in the same class as Jess Philips - All Bluster and Never Turns Up To Do The Hard Work,.
