You just gotta internalize no one is criticizing you except your self. If you want something you have to be selfish, normally people would advocate that's wrong; Why? Because people don't want you to achieve your highest potential, now ask yourself isn't that selfish of others?

You gotta own your shit, no one else will be helping you, simply own it, and throw yourself into the fire. It will feel weird, uncomfortable, yet it's for the betterment of your life, and no one else's.

Social interaction comes naturally to some people. To the rest, you just have to try, and fail-- a lot.

I'm the type who would cringe weeks, months, even years after a failed joke, getting shot down, or whatever. I actually had to build up a layer of failures so that they just get blurred together and none of them sting anymore. Now I just don't give a fuck and have a good amount of success.

You're 16 you have so much time to learn and experience, good on you. The simple answer to your question is practice. How does the guy in the gym lift that heavy weight? Because he started with lighter weights and moved his way up over time, fortunately you have fuckloads of time to realise the only thing holding you back is the fear of rejection. The more times you face that fear the number it gets.

You know, now that I look back. Girls around age 16-20 are more willing to go out with a straightforward guy. Just tell them exactly how you feel and if it's a no, move on.
