I'm sadly still single in my early 40s, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, however I've made a decent amount of income in my life and I wonder what happens afterwards, financially speaking. I have to wonder if it's possible to explicitly designate no financial beneficiaries for an investment account that generates passive income through dividend investing. Essentially that account would just grow in perpetuity with no one having legal access to it. Is that something that's able to be done, or would someone, somewhere have to be a beneficiary? I'm kind of curious what would happen when, through compounding via dividend reinvestment, an account like that gets to be in the millions or even billions.
