you know what pisses me off more? people that think this is a competition on who has it worst. We can focus on both parties without feeling the need to prioritize anyone over the other, because eveeyone deserves support and everyone deserves the attention. whatcdo you think?

this comment was under an instagram post about male abuse victims. the comments were fairly normal other than this one and another that stated "all men want is sex".

comments like this are problematic imho, as it creates a feeling that a female r*pe victim is more deserving of support than a male victim.

this type of stance, is shared by many, does nothing but make it harder for male victims to find help and support groups when they share their stories.

i understand that women face things like this more often than men, but if people do not discuss this stuff as one single group , r*pe victims, and instead discuss it as if it was a competition, a men vs women thing, we'll never make meaninfull change imho.

we can support everyone without the need to exclude male victims just because they face it less.

Wasn't the 1 in 6 women raped the result of Koss muddy study done in universities? I know that this is not the point of the post, it just baffles me that that study is still considered gospel.
