Thoughts on having friends of the opposite sex while in a committed, monogamous relationship?

It depends on the history and the level of interaction. A friend he grew up with who’s like a sister to him - fine. A girl he just met recently and spends all his time texting - not fine.

It’s all so dependent on the situation. And so individual to each relationship. I’m not really a jealous person, so YMMV.

I've maintained my friendships with guys I met in college. But I don't really feel inclined to seek out new male friends.

I enjoy male company when I go to social events, but I don't keep in touch with them after the events, in the same way I do with some of the women I meet. I'm not sure it'd be an issue for my relationship with my fiance, but it just feels weird to me to dm a guy I met at a party. I'm not sure my intentions would be super clear. To be honest, if a guy I met messaged me out of the blue, I would also wonder what he was looking for. (It might be ok if it was an academic or professional question).

I don't have male friends that aren't either joint friends or more like casual acquaintances that are married to my female friends.

But I also don't have many female friends either as I'm pretty introverted, so I'm probably not a good example. Oh and I've been with hubby since my mid teens
