The discrimination refers to the marking, behaviour management (punishing boys for completely normal harmless behaviour, and not girls for same or worse behaviour, exclusions even, and in expectations and idealogical teaching)

"Teachers in developed countries routinely mark boys down compared to girls for the same standard of work. Studies show boys know this is happening and adjust their effort and investment in education because of it. A common explanation of why teachers do this, is that they are subconsciously marking boys down because boys' behaviour is more challenging than girls'. Even if that is the reason, then it's very unfair and unprofessional: schools should deal with academic marking and behaviour separately. The paper looks at higher education, not schools. But what it finds is highly significant for the debate around boys in education. It finds that any academic study which finds evidence of bias in higher education against women is widely reported in the general press and cited by other researchers. But any study which finds bias against men in higher education, sinks like a stone and is neither reported not cited to anywhere near the same extent. So, there is a bias against reporting on or considering possible bias against men in academia.

If the same bias exists in relation to schools, then we'd expect your teachers either not to have heard of any or many of the studies above. We'd also expect them not to have been involved in sex-specific efforts, based on these studies, to address boys' underperformance at schools. So, if they have not heard of all this and are not doing something about it, they prove your thesis that boys are being underserved in education. Or at least, they make it more plausible and more worthy of education.

Sceptics may say that these studies are not from the UK, or not all from the UK. This is true. But the LSE and OECD ones do include research on UK schools. And in any case, boys are underachieving in all Western nations. Looking at these results from other countries with similar problems, we should want to carry out research to see if the same things are happening here. That we are not doing this, is more evidence of bias. If there was this weight of evidence that girls were being discriminated against, do you think the supposed campaigners for "gender equality" in politics and public life would ignore it?

I went to a private college without girls and I can tell you that things were much calmer and more serious than what I saw in other colleges and even in high school.

There is no violence, power struggles or even insults because there is no girl to please and fight for.

So everyone could concentrate on studying in peace without having to conform to ridiculous standards to satisfy girls.

If you pay attention in any conflict there's a girl as an instigator. This also applies in professional circles. It is not uncommon that in a company when there are a majority of men the staff is more relaxed, free to talk and ask for help, while when there are too many women they complain to the management all the time and create ridiculous conflicts.

This is a primitive animal behaviour whose aim is to create competition and conflict so that attention remains around the females and weaker subjects are excluded.

Except that we are not in the savannah and there is no longer any question of strength or sexual partner. This behaviour is therefore useless in our society and is toxic.

I am in favour of gender separation outside of sexually competitive (pretentiously called flirting) or family environments.

There's a lot of difficulties males face in education compared to females, but I dare say the fact that ~70%+ of teachers being female, especially for early schooling, that the bias is through the roof, even if it's subconscious and not intentional.

this reminds me of freshman year in ap world history when my teacher devoted a day to basically shitting on the guys in the class and talking about how hard the girls have it because they have to shave their legs and shit. and this was a male teacher.

Women grade boys lower for the same work. If there are no girls, it's not as likely that boys will be downgraded to make them look better.

Also, boys don't look so uncontrollable with only other boys to compare to. Part of why boys get marked down is that they're more physically active, and show more behavior "problems" as a result. And, (I'm just guessing this) all-boy classes probably have more male teachers, who wouldn't be as likely to mark all boys lower (again, especially in an all-boys classroom.)
